We said goodbye to an old friend last night. Naomi went on to the great dog park in the sky. She was a great dog, companion and friend. We will miss her...

Something never change

Here we are doing the "green circle of hope" (ie Starbucks) in San Diego. We spent the day at SeaWorld yesterday with a million of our closest friends and saw some of the best Holiday shows ever. Today at the San Diego zoo a person walked up and offered us his extra tickets - free! This is something our foot would do, so it was nice to be the givee. The pandas are great and this is one of our favorite zoos. (Third time) Although the Cheyenne Mtn Zoo has better hippos, elephants and unmatched giraffes.

And now for something completely Different...

This is one of my favorite Monty Python lines... and it describes Christmas Day 2008. We woke up to the barest set of presents under the tree. Our commitment was to simplify and boy was it simple. After the shock of this and when the girls had figured out what we were doing... A trip to California! After a flurry of packing (since there was no unwrapping) we headed off to serve at the Salvation Army Community Feed... Talk about humbling. There was an abundance of volunteers, so we got to deliver meals to a couple down in fountain. They were so gracious and appreciative. Next to the airport... and we wait, we fly, we land, we wait and wait for a rental car, but the reward was our car was right outside the door! (The lot was two city blocks big) Once we got settled in the hotel (Very nice) we ran around downtown LA, on Christmas Night looking for fast food. Mixed in with the homeless and the working folk and the santa hats, it was another humbling moment. Thanks to 7 years of Capital One Miles, we could actually afford the basics of the trip and now we just have to eat, sleep and play. What a blessing! Final thoughts for today... When the meal was delivered, the man commented, "Wow, this is enough food for a week!" -- This rings loudly in our memories of Christmas 2008.

My Year

Hey,

This is Katy....

This year has been freaking AMAZING at best and just plain awesome at

worst!!!

First in January February March April and May I finished off my Freshman

year at Coronado. I got my permit went to state for swimming and played

golf. My state relay team went in 3 different relays and we are going to

(hopefully) duplicate that feat again this year. I decided to play golf

because I was really good at Wii golf. hahha. I actually ended up having

a great time and lettering in it. hahaha

Then during the summer I did summer club at Valley as I have the last 8

years. i did great and ended up qualifying for almost every event

despite the fact that I was very sick all summer. I went to 2 different

specialists (an allergist and an Ear-Nose-Throat doctor), got X-rays and

CAT-scans and finally they figured out that I had a deviated septum.

Basically I have never been able to breathe through my nose.... makes

you wonder how I ever became a swimmer...

Also I got my first job. Making Hula-Hoops for the company HULACHICKS!

over-sized hula hoops for exercise and fun.

Now I have finished my 1st semester of my sophomore year. I started out

the year doing volleyball. I was on C-squad with Sergio as my coach. I

was team captain and I had a fun time. But I might not do Volleyball

next year. I have some very hard classes this year (chemistry and

pre-calc) but I managed to pull off A's in every class. Plus now I am a

certified Lifeguard. Now I am in swimming 6 days a week and absolutely

loving it!!!! we are 3-0 and we got 3rd at Pikes Peak Relays!!!!

That is what is going on right now.....

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!

HEYYYYYY!

Its a Wonderful Life...

We just finished "It's a Wonderful Life" a tradition from my youth. I remember my mom playing an audio recording of it over and over... Well today we watched it as a family and the girls loved the story and even had a few tears. It reminds me what a Wonderful Life I have been blessed with and reminds me to pray that my life would be a blessing to others... It is wonderful to share these moments with my family and I love the fact the girls loved it as well. --- Terry
